Actually, behind the crazy is the fact that primarily white men have made their career status and how much money they have, the centerpiece of their identity and self-esteem.
There’s a huge invitation right now to buck that old paradigm, but millions of men (and some women) are hanging on with all their might, knowing by doing so, they avoid facing the inner work.
The rest of us, who are doing the inner work (in which you realize everything that appears superficial, is indeed superficial) are unfortunately impacted by the backlash of mentally, emotionally and spiritually stunted ‘dudes’ trying to hold on to their last dollar.
While I understand that men are biologically hard wired to be providers and a difficult economy and job market restricts the ability to provide in a traditional sense, there are many ways of contributing and providing, that don’t tie your worth to your bank account. All of this highlights the fallacy of rugged individualism and our need to shift focus to collective solutions and an economic safety net.
Most importantly, it’s time for the centuries old bias, that men are superior to women, to be put down. The rise of unapologetically powerful women, who approach life, business and leadership from a different perspective, does not lessen the role of men, but it will inevitably change the way they are expected to show up.
Change is hard for everyone.
This historical cycle is an echo of the past, but at a new octave. Anyone who resists personal and collective evolution, will likely throw a tantrum like a toddler, trying to get their way no matter how it impacts others.
It’s time to grow up, dudes.
Be a part of the solution, not the problem…
