Actually, I've never been happier. I have a wonderful partner and some amazing men in my life. But that doesn't negate the fact that women as a whole (not all), have been doing the inner reflection work and shifting our role in society for decades, while most (not all) men have not. We are no longer willing to excuse nasty and self-serving behavior with the phrase 'boys will be boys'. So many of us have been used, abused and tossed aside by men who think the world owes them something. It does not. We do have an agenda and it's simple. We want to be treated, in practical, everyday terms, as equals to men. Not looked at as second-class citizens, whose voices and contributions mean less. Women are the majority gender on this planet, we want equal representation at the leadership table, in our communities and in our family systems. We want men to stop being violent towards us, legislating what we can, and cannot do with our bodies and listen more than they talk. We want being an emotionally intelligent person to be as equally valued as being an intellectually intelligent being. We want people and our planet to matter more than profit. We want men to stop the hyper-competition and stop killing each other and women and children over territory, ideologies and resources. We want gun culture, rape culture and dominance culture to be a thing of the past. Pretty simple, but it requires men to question themselves and their long-held assumptions about what it really means to be 'masculine'...
