Actually, what I found after seeing several endocrinologists, was they are very unlikely to prescribe medication, even when you’ve been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and have a variety of symptoms, because your blood work comes out as in the ‘normal’ range.

Normal for who? How is that seemingly arbitrary number decided upon? I suffered for years with various symptoms while my blood work looked fine, until I went to a female gynecologist who was willing to try a micro dose and my symptoms have dramatically improved.

My sense is that it’s mostly male doctors making these decisions for a largely female client base, without actually listening to their patients or being dismissive of the symptoms. No one really enjoys having to take medication, but a different approach is needed for each patient, instead of the rigid measuring stick that doctor’s must adhere to. I’m not sure how many people participated in the studies you cited, but everyone I know with a thyroid disorder has struggled for years to be heard and to receive the right combination of resources to improve their quality of life…
