Hello dear ones. For several years, I studied the work of Alison Armstrong, who interviewed thousands of men, with a mission to bring peace and understanding to the relationships between men and women. I learned so much and it completely shifted my perspective on the men in my life, as well as helped heal some of the heartaches I had been carrying. One of the things Alison brought forth was the Developmental Stages of Men.
It was very helpful, but I always wondered, what might be the Developmental Stages of Women? I felt compelled to explore, at least from the perspective I hold right now.
I welcome your thoughts and experiences, if there are any key stages you feel I may have missed. In my exploration, I am intending, to the best of my ability, to be inclusive to anyone who identifies as female, with no assumptions about how you’re expressing your sexuality or romantic relationships.
This model also offers value to those who identify as male or non-binary, we can always work towards greater understanding.
I also did not assign an age range to any stage, because we each follow a unique path. I’ve observed we will often loop back to revisit a certain stage or to deeper maturity with a certain archetype, so this would be more of a cyclical model, rather than linear.
