As a former Christian, so I have read the entire Bible, but not studied it as you have, where I think many churches went wrong was telling their parishioners to actively go out and convert people - I heard this message loud and clear in many sermons. When someone is just going about their day, then they are told they are a horrific sinner who will burn in hell if they don’t make a certain statement, it’s very off-putting. Especially the part that Christianity is the truth for everyone and the rest of 4,200 spiritual belief systems must be wrong.

And the reason I left is fundamentally I believe everyone should be free of manipulation to choose their own spiritual path, or not believe in anything at all.
