Being ‘woke’ is not an insult

And, it’s not entirely accurate either.

The latest Internet insult? You must be one of those ‘WOKE’ people.

For shame. I can’t even stand to talk with you. WOKE people are self-righteous, mean, illogical, idealist, or just out to ‘police’ the rest of us. You are leftist, communist, a snowflake, idiotic and are responsible for the destruction of the way of life we’ve always known. You represent everything that’s wrong with our world.

Okay, that’s enough of tapping into that energy, you get what I mean.

There are many versions of this insult floating around. Politicians to celebrities to the average person in your social media feed has an opinion about it.

People using ‘woke’ as an insult really bothers me, or clearly, I wouldn’t be pouring my feelings out on the page. This type of casual (or not so casual) insult brings up anger and a little bit of ‘what the hell do they know?’

But a part of me can see their point (stay with me here). Sometimes when we have a spiritual awakening or expansion of consciousness, we can’t wait to share it with anyone and everyone. We can try to convert other people to our way of thinking or view them as ‘sheep’, which is the other insult that really gets under my skin. You don’t want to be told you’re incapable…
