Courageous writing Victor, I have also seemed to struggle with deep emotions my whole life until about six years ago when I learned I am a highly sensitive person. It’s a temperament trait shared by 20% of the human population and one of the characteristics is strong emotional responsiveness, being very heart connected, caring deeply about others and our world. We also are very deep thinkers and notice all the small subtleties around us.
Half of highly sensitive people are men, yet our society and cultures do not often support these traits, instead as you stated expect men to act macho and stuff down their emotions, yet we know this is not healthy for anyone, let alone sensitive people.
