Don’t create a spiritual business so clients get ‘hooked’ on you
This may seem like strange advice from someone who mentors people to create sustainable businesses. Don’t you want repeat clients? Sure.
It’s great to make an introductory offer, facilitate transformation, then invite the same client to step up to the next level of your programs or services. However, as a healer, coach, therapist or consultant, be careful to not set up your business structure to keep clients dependent upon you for answers.
For example, if you’re an intuitive reader, you have two choices. Give readings where you do all the talking, you offer all the advice, and your clients are essentially a passive listener. They don’t know what to do, so time after time, they come to you for answers about life decisions. They only feel secure to take their next steps after you’ve weighed in. Seems great right? They get the help, and you get to make a living using your gifts.
This is how a lot of the psychic and intuitive career field operates (actually it’s how most businesses operate), because they’ve bought into the idea that abundance only flows if they’re seen as the ‘expert.’
As a result of always needing to be ‘on’ and ‘accurate,’ many who provide readings, healings or energy clearings become exhausted and burnout. It’s a lot of pressure.
