Finding Your Anchor in a Sea of Change

As a human and spiritual being, you’re like a small twig drifting along in a massive river. Sometimes you can paddle and influence the direction a bit, but mostly you must simply let go, surrender to an energetic flow much larger than yourself.

Change is exciting, terrifying, desired, and stressful — all at once. Even small ripples in your daily existence can send us twisting and spinning off course. Big changes, well, those are another thing altogether.

Like the ending of a relationship or the beginning of a new one.

The loss of someone important in your life.

Deciding to pursue a completely different career.

Or the urge to move to a foreign location.

When you undergo a massive change, your mind, heart, and body struggle to assimilate. Everything feels raw and uncertain. You enter an energetic fog, feeling completely unrooted and ungrounded. During those moments, it’s important to seek something, anything that feels familiar.

You might prepare your favorite food or wrap yourself in a well-worn sweater. Revisit a daily habit that nurtures you. Find one point of familiarity in an uncharted sea.

In addition to evolution, you need continuity. A through-line to stabilize your boat, a paddle that allows…
