For many, like myself, home care was not an option. I was 44 and single when I unexpectantly became the POA for my grandmother. I would have needed to quit my job and care for her full time, I wasn’t trained to deal with the complexities of her conditions and I lived in another state, so I would have needed to break my lease as well. For many, the psychological and financial impact makes home care impossible.
