Great article and spot on to my experiences as an entrepreneur, five years in. One caveat from my perspective, resilience is needed, but that doesn’t always come from stoicism. To be a successful businessperson in this climate, you must have emotional intelligence and willingness to be authentic and vulnerable. Clients are savvy, they see right through old school manipulative sales tactics or people promising to be someone’s guru. They expect the raw and real, part of the entrepreneurial work is facing your fears and your triggers head on, no stuffing, no hiding. We don’t need more stoicism and detachment, we need leadership from a place of empathy and compassion, in addition to bravery and persistence.
