How do empathy and intuition work together?

Recently, I was talking with a member of the 1 Million Empaths community who stated, ‘I’m not exactly clear about the difference between empathy and intuition.’ As I paused for a moment to allow clarity to flow through me, the message that emerged was:

First, we sense it (empath), then we make sense of it (intuition).

Empathy:
I define an empath as a person who has the ability to sense subtle, and not so subtle, shifts in the energy around them. When something changes, our perceptive radar perks up and sends us an alert. This could be a shift in mental, emotional, physical, environmental, collective or spiritual energy. It’s like a stone being dropped into a still pond, the ripple activates our empathic gift. It might be a huge boulder or a tiny pebble — but we feel it.

Sometimes we know exactly what the shift means, but often we just receive a general feeling something has changed. Empaths can sense these types of shifts within people who are right there in the same room and from a great distance. It might be happening right now, or it could be a glimpse of the future. Energetic vibrations are not limited by time or space.

Empaths are generally more attuned to those who we know and love, as we become familiar with their innate vibrational frequency. A loved one’s…
