I am absolutely a continuously recovering workaholic. How do I know it has a hold on me? When my first thought upon awakening, is a laundry list of all the things I need to do in my business, projects to complete around my home, errands I need to run. I also like working and get a perverse satisfaction from working too hard.
But years of living with my own chronic health conditions have taught me (the hard way) that I need to learn to release my inner pusher and enjoy relaxing just as much as I enjoy working.
Our modern economic system is set up to keep us on the hustle train and for you as a single mom, the pressure is likely more intense.
Rejecting the idea of constant productivity is a radical act of rebellion. Slowing down to look around, notice the small things, be present in the moment, allow your nervous and immune systems to stand down — is invaluable.
