I don’t identify with either party, although I did vote for Biden last year because the alternative was a sociopathic narcissist. Have one in my family, so I know the type well. I hear your anger, but if there’s one reflection I can make about the incessant political polarity of 2021, is it didn’t solve a damn thing.

No one of either ‘side’ blasting hate speech about the others, led to any meaningful progress for average Americans. As a matter of fact, millions of our citizens, including myself, are struggling precisely because of the divisiveness.

2022 is an invitation to understand that our collective challenges are not simple, they are COMPLEX and nuanced. You can’t solve anything by stomping your feet and saying, ‘it just needs to be my way’ like a 5-year old toddler.

Societies have always required compromise, no one gets everything they want, but most people get something, which is more than we have at this point.

Pointing fingers doesn’t get us anywhere but digging ourselves deeper into the hole. So by all means yell and cuss and vent out whatever you want, but understand it’s ultimately an exercise in futility.

If our country can’t find a moderate platform of commonalities, we will go the same route as the Roman Empire, kaput. Good riddance.
