I love your writing Marley and generally feel you are spot on, but I don’t think this one hit. Abortion is not a cut and dry issue, except for those who don’t want it to be available at all. No feminist I know, including myself, thinks abortion is a great experience for any woman, but there are times it’s a necessary one. And, as long as women, their bodies and their choices continue to be subjugated by men, racism won’t cease either. To think they are separate, is naïve. Power and dominance is primarily a male tendency (enacted by men of all ethnicities), and it impacts everyone who is oppressed, although not equally. Patriarchy and racism are two sides to the same coin. Plus women can unconsciously or consciously uphold patriarchy as well, especially those who are dismissive of its impact…
