I understand the distinction you are making, however in almost every part of the world, making $200-400k is wealth beyond most humans imagination. It represents not having to worry when you make a purchase, being able to travel when you desire, often owning more than one home, when many people have none. I am genuinely happy that someone achieved that level of wealth (provided they aren’t exploiting others by paying low wages, outsourcing child labor, polluting the Earth or making money in a way that hurts others, to get there). I don’t however, feel guilty asking them to pay a higher share of taxes than lower income people. With privilege, comes greater responsibility to the collective, not less…
