I was taught in art school that there is no such thing as original work, everything is a derivative of what came before, there is always a point of inspiration.
I learned through metaphysical study and quantum physics that everything that has, is and will be already exists within a greater web of consciousness. So for any one person to believe that the work originated from them instead of that they became the vessel in which the work from the greater field poured out, is purely ego-based. An idea can and usually does seek out multiple sources of distribution at the time in our history that we are ready to receive it and understand it.
When you realize you are not the source, then what shifts is the importance of bringing the work into the world, rather than getting credit for it…
