I would be curious to know how many of the commentors on this thread are white, middle to upper class economically, men, able-bodied, cisgender, or heterosexuals. That would reveal a lot about why the theme seems to be, I don’t have privilege, this is just normal for the majority.

But what’s interesting, is you are not the majority. While people globally are not the majority, people of color are. Men are not the majority, women are. And so, you’re making the assumption that your access to money, power, and influence is the default, when it’s not.

Especially the person who warned that people who dare to talk about privilege might get it taken away, ah now we’re getting down to what it’s really about. You are asserting yourself as the majority, so you don’t lose something (money, freedom, choices, safety) to others that have less. Sounds like the definition of privilege to me…
