If your inner child wants to come out to play, let them…
For those who are sensitive, empathic and intuitive, there’s a crucial aspect of your persona that longs to be nurtured — your inner child. And yet, because we live in a rapidly changing, intense and sometimes chaotic time, our inner child voice can easily become drowned out by the latest political/social debate or even the regular routines of life.
Paying bills, doing laundry and work are all very necessary.
So is play.
Now, depending upon what types of experiences you had as a young person, you might have a complicated relationship with your inner child.
Maybe you were encouraged to play and expand your imagination. Or maybe you felt like the most responsible person in your household, older than your parents even.
Perhaps you were tuned-in to the Oneness. You looked out into the world with confusion about why human beings play these ‘adult games’. War, discrimination, manipulation, pain and struggle simply did not make sense.
Then we went to school and learned to follow instructions, to be responsible and to treat learning like a job. You were probably asked, ‘What are you going to be when you grow up?’
Answering back then felt like a lot of pressure. How I am supposed to know? I’m still…
