Several months ago, I decided to look back on the past few years of my life — the good, the bad and the seriously ugly. As I started to mentally list one after another impactful events, it occurred to me how much I’d been through.

As a matter of fact, I went online to find one of those stress tests, you know the ones that give you a score for each type of life event? After totaling everything at the bottom, I sat back in shock.

How am I not a puddle of goo on the floor right now?

Then, a light of recognition, hey, I’m pretty resilient. Actually, I’m doing really well, considering. Yes, I still have some healing to do but I’m making steady progress — every single day.

What are some of the most common life stressors? The ones that can push your mental, emotional and physical being to the breaking point?

  • Leaving a relationship, especially if there was anger, fear and drama.
  • Starting a new relationship (seems good, but can also be stressful as you share your inner self and negotiate the newness).
  • Moving to a new home (especially if you moved from one state or country to another).
  • Moving in with your significant other for the first time (likely negotiations and pet peeves on the…
