One of the Hermetic Principles, a foundational teaching from ancient times, demonstrates the Principle of Correspondence:

As above, so below.

As within, so without.

What’s reflected in one part of our reality is holographically reflected in all parts of our reality. Let’s talk about how our planetary shift into interdependency is being mirrored right now.

One of the core experiences for human beings is dependency.

As an infant, we are 100% dependent upon our parents or caregivers for survival. We needed them to provide food, to ensure our safety, to teach us early lessons about how to navigate our world. This is a healthy expression of dependency.

Where dependency can go awry is when we carry dysfunctional patterns we learned in childhood into our adult relationships, becoming co-dependent.

Many people grew up observing codependent behaviors. Playing the role of rescuer or fixer of others, you may have learned early on that your natural born empathy could be used to help others (and ourselves) to feel better.

Oh how we wanted that!

Empaths crave being the balm to someone else’s wound. Maybe if I give enough love, time, attention, money, if I sacrifice my needs for another —…
