It’s fine to work towards modest goals
Messages targeted towards entrepreneurs and leaders tell us we must go for the pinnacle of all achievements. We must climb to the top of the mountain (or the top of the business hierarchy). We must make 7 figures and have tens of thousands of followers, adoring our every post.
Go big or go home!
Anything less than the best is not acceptable.
Whew, what a lot of pressure. Honestly, that doesn’t sit well with my sensitive nervous system. What’s wrong with practical goals? Why is a calm, stable and comfortable life worth less?
Modest goals are great.
Moderation is healthy.
Whenever I try to bring a huge desire into form, I can’t seem to embrace it. Not because I need to get out of my own way, or I don’t value myself enough (the damaging messages we often receive about manifestation) — but because managing a multitude of relationships, enormous sums of money, or massive publicity feels overwhelming.
Truthfully, I want a simple, quiet life, with close friends and family, immersed in nature every day, financially nurtured at a comfortable level so I can continue to invest in my growth, travel occasionally, and do sacred work that’s fulfilling and makes a difference for those I serve.
