It’s not wrong to want to empower women to know how to defend themselves. The implied judgment comes in, that she should have just defended herself better and she wouldn’t have been raped or abused, instead of laying the blame squarely where it belongs, on the man who’s enacting this unacceptable behavior. We want to push for a world where women don’t have to defend themselves, because men take responsibility for their actions and when they don’t, women are believed by their communities, the authorities and the courts and men are held accountable!
