Just a note, the government doesn’t ‘pay’ for anything. Our elected officials collect taxes, which is money earned by Americans working and then votes on how to distribute said money back for the collective good. If their constituents like how they stewarded the money, they get re-elected. If they don’t, someone else is voted in.
