On the contrary, women can be sexist towards other women and we see many examples of that in the conservative movement and even within the feminist movement. Women who knowingly or unknowingly collude with misogynist men or completely on their own try to hold other women down, it happens all the time.
It happens most often in the churches, synagogues and mosques. It happens in social circles and in the workplace. It happens every time one woman slut shames another or talks behind her back or calls the police on a family having a bbq in the park. And it especially happens in politics when some of our female representatives vote to restrict the rights and autonomy of women to make decisions about their bodies, about family leave, about who to marry, whether they can adopt.
What’s chilling is so many women voted for a man who openly talks about and treats women in controlling, despicable ways. It’s similar to someone who stays with an abuser (speaking from experience), because you think by trying to be more pleasing or compliant, somehow all the pain and abuse will magically go away.
It does not.
