One shift I am making, because the terms masculine and feminine hold such strong historical connotations, is to use the terms ‘dynamic’ and ‘magnetic. The dynamic energy inside each person (regardless of their biological or identified gender) is an external focus - doing energy, our in the world, connecting with others, speaking out, taking action, bringing ideas into form. The magnetic energy within each person is their way of being, their inner world, solitary, self reflective, in touch with their emotions, intuition, and the cosmos. Each of these energies can be expressed dysfunctionally or in a healthy manner, depending upon self awareness and establishing new habits.

A woman could be expressing her dynamic energies in an unhealthy way, as an overachiever and workaholic - speaking from experience. A man could be expressing his magnetic energies in an unhealthy way, by allowing his strong emotions (which are fine) to destroy others and our society.

They can also choose to work towards balancing their doing with their being, shifting the energies to a more healthy, expanded state.
