Sometimes, you still have to do the uncomfortable things
If you’ve worked really hard to leave an unhealthy relationship or a job that was sucking the life out of you, the contrasting experience feels really great.
Finally! From now on, I’m only going to choose people and environments that nurture and uplift me.
Yes, it’s absolutely crucial to use your power of discernment to make conscious choices. The majority of what you intersect with, should be positive and affirming.
However beware, as it could be easy for you to slip into complacency. To adopt an attitude if something is uncomfortable, not as fun, or difficult to do, it’s not for you.
I constantly monitor what I’m choosing, but also recognize life presents us with difficulties as opportunities to test our mettle and build our resilience. To humble our egos, so we don’t begin to feel we are ‘too good’ or ‘too spiritual’ to take care of the mundane.
For example, I’m not thrilled about scooping feces from the litter box every day, but I choose to approach it from a place of kindness. I want my cat to be cared for and have a clean place to do her business. I don’t like to use a nasty toilet and neither does she.
