The Balance Between Structure and Freedom

On every level, we are now exploring the delicate balance between structure and freedom.

Some believe freedom is the highest spiritual path. Let go of all attachments, follow what arises, give infinite space to those around you, let everyone walk their own path. To a wild, gypsy soul like myself, it sounds so enticing.

I wonder then, what role might structure play in our lives and in society as a whole? Where do we need to draw solid boundaries, create agreements, live up to common expectations?

I see freedom as the domain of the soul. Wide open potential, the bigger picture. Few, if any human-based concerns. Navigate by the changing winds. The intricate, dancing energetic patterns of the Universe.

At the same time, your soul chose this human existence. A physical body with limitations, the greatest of which a finite lifespan. The forgetting at birth of who we truly are, which sets us off on a continuous journey to rediscover our greatness, our embodiment of the Oneness.

Life itself is a system of structures, some natural, some self-imposed.

Structure, the domain of the ego, is useful when it creates a safe environment for all humans to thrive.

Structure hurts when driven by a need for power and control.

It’s not surprising we find ourself on these scales during Libra season. What a perfect time to explore the delicate and ever transforming balance of structure and freedom, soul and ego.

We must, at this juncture of human evolution strike this balance.

We have everything to do so — the wisdom, the opportunity and a sufficient number who have awakened to lead the way.

What balance will your soul and your ego strike as we move forward into a new era?

At some point in our lives, most of us ask:

  • Why am I here?
  • What am I supposed to be doing?
  • How do I fit into my community, in the world?
  • What’s my greatest potential?

Imagine if those questions could be answered. Imagine knowing your life’s purpose so clearly you could state it boldly without hesitation in a few powerful words.

If you, or someone you know, is asking these questions, please consider joining us for Soul Mission, a unique weekend retreat taking place in Grapevine, Texas in February 2019. Learn more and register by Nov. 1 to receive early bird pricing…
