The idea that we simply must accept that the Emperor Constantine and the Council at Nicia were 'divinely inspired' to pick and choose the books of the Bible, is pure church propaganda. Of course, they want you to be quiet, compliant, don't question and while you're at it, don't forget to fill up the collection plate. They deliberately eliminated the voices of writers who were actually spreading Christ's message of acceptance and love for everyone, pluse a direct relationship with God with no middle man. That's why the leaders of the time arranged to have him killed (if Jesus was a real person, not a metaphor borrowed from earlier cultural texts.
This is why so many people are leaving Christianity - the idea that somehow this one religion out of thousands of religions is miraculously 'the truth'. Please.
