The Magic of Self-Awareness

There are multiple crucial elements to the spiritual path. Studying diverse spiritual teachings to weave together common threads, discerning what’s aligned, and what’s not. Being continuously open to new discoveries, stepping forward in faith, even when you cannot see the destination. Allowing yourself to be a vessel, a channel for all that wishes to flow through you.

One of the foundational aspects of spiritual evolution is self-awareness. Recognizing how often you move through the world, reacting and operating from unconscious patterning. How influenced we truly are, by each other — both negatively and positively.

Awakening is not about finding the ‘truth,’ it’s about cultivating your compassionate self-observer.

The ability to elevate above your human thoughts and strong emotions to notice what’s really happening.

Your inner magician and alchemist, whose all-seeing eye captures the irony of a holographic Universe.

Years ago, I learned the Hermetic principle: As above, so below. Also stated: as within, so without. Every nuance of nature, every conversation, every sappy song lyric, every emotional trigger — illuminates your inner nature. What bothers you, is also something inside you. You live in an infinite house of mirrors, where your Divine image appears to be fragmented from the Earthly perspective. It is not.

Looking objectively at Self is one of the hardest and yet, most rewarding skills to master. You build huge walls, fortresses even, to avoid seeing. You focus on other people’s behavior, get angry about how it impacts you. You point fingers, blame, shame, argue, try to win.

Often, you turn that same energy within. Allow your inner critic voice to make you wrong for your spiritual blindness. Truthfully, you wound yourself so much more than anyone or anything external could ever do.

Why is there a veil?

Why do our souls enter this human vessel and forget who we are and what we’ve learned from lifetimes past?

Is there a benefit to our lack of Self-awareness?

Perhaps. In my own spiritual journey, moments of self-clarity have been both painful and exquisite. When I’m finally able to climb out of the shadowy hole and…
