These types of trends and self improvement activities are at long last recognizing that people are not robots (ironically at the same time when many of our jobs are going to be replaced by AI). Human beings don’t just shut off all habits, emotions and beliefs at the door to their job, we bring them forth into the workplace and they have real implications for the culture of the companies we work for, our interactions with others and hence the products and services that come out into the marketplace.
Whether LEGO is ‘the answer’ is a side bar to the fact that we now live in a world where refusing to do your inner work, your inner healing, refusing to believe your old wounds don’t impact anyone is no longer acceptable. Yay!
Actually, instead of treating people as children, this trend is recognizing it’s time for us to step up and be adults, take responsibility for our way of being in the world instead of just operating from subconscious impulses because we don’t want to face our neuroses.
As a life coach, I have a favorite saying, ‘when you get triggered, it’s time to get curious.’
