This is a very privileged opinion and unsubstantiated. Stimulus checks only came because as a global society, we experienced an unprecedented interrupt in our economic system. Our government had an obligation to provide a safety net to our citizens, because the money that comes into the government is 100% the people’s money. There is no such thing as handouts, people pay in and when they need help because of something out of their control, they receive it back.

It’s great that your family’s home is now worth 800,000, but I hate to inform you that your family is part of the top percentage of wealthy for which you rail against. To tell an Uber driver they need to simply work harder to build generational wealth is ridiculous…
