University Presidents also operate in a vacuum of academia, where what’s happening to common people is merely conceptual. Most have been insulated for years from the everyday life of modern society.

I prefer to elect people with more real-world savvy, those with a variety of lived experiences. People who can relate in some dimension or another to those they are representing. Otherwise, what you are proposing is still an elitist system, run by the ‘highly educated.’

But, I am definitely in favor of not always electing attorneys, that’s the majority of our officials at this time.
