Well hopefully, those who exploited the system, will get a rude awakening when it comes time to submit for PPP forgiveness. I am completing that process right now and they are requiring quite a bit of financial documentation. Not that someone couldn’t fudge it, but I would assume some companies of various sizes will end up paying off the loan because of the practices you describe. Also, it’s quite possible that even with a PPP loan, it wasn’t enough to keep all their employees, as it was only a percentage of salary costs for 3 months, not a permanent fix for a pandemic going on 24 months…
