Why do we still insist on an us vs. them mentality? Why can we not allow people to be individuals, which includes honoring individual diversity like transgender or non-binary people, people with a myriad of spiritual beliefs (not just Christian), while also recognizing our responsibility to each other as a collective. What bothers me about many conservatives is their cry for rugged individualism, but then when anyone dares to actually be an individual and deviates from their fundamental beliefs, they are ostracized.
