'Woke' was a term coined by African-Americans in the 1920s, as a way to alert each other of individual and systemic racism - like stay woke. It literally means to be aware of bigotry and injustice. It doesn't mean that by someone calling it out, that it can immediately be eradicated and being woke has nothing to do with cancel culture.
