Yes, I found working in the landscape field that people were shocked by how much it costs to maintain the exterior of a home. Good soil is expensive, plants are expensive (because they require months of years of tending in a nursery) even mowing and shrub/tree trimming requires an experienced crew. It is a very challenging profession, being out there in heat and cold, listening to entitled people complaining that you cut their grass 1/4” too short and other nonsense. While I definitely miss designing and transforming gardens, I don’t miss the other stuff at all.
