You don’t have to compete, there’s enough for everyone
For the past two weeks, I’ve been immersed in the Olympics. I’ve watched not only the ‘popular’ events, but the obscure ones as well — sending good vibes and well-wishes to all the athletes and their loved ones. I love tapping into the energy of people whose passion carried them the top of their game.
I relish the stories of what they’ve had to overcome and how they trained to arrive in the arena. Putting their heart, mind and body to the test to discover what’s possible.
On the surface, the Olympics appears to be nothing but a huge competition. One team or one individual battling it out with another for a piece of shiny gold to hang around their neck. Bragging rights. All-consuming joy at the win, supreme disappointment at the loss.
You may think, this is just how life is. Everything’s a competition, there are winners and losers. 1/4 preparation + 1/4 perspiration + 1/4 who you know + 1/4 being in the right place at the right time.
Work hard = win a gold medal.
Get your mind right = win a gold medal.
Beat your opponent = get a gold medal.
